Adventurous flyfishing for Brown Trout and Rainbow trout
Patagonia is a destination that should not be missed by the international flyfisher
In 1971 H.R. Hebeisen was journalist at the "Fischerei-Magazin". One day he got an invitation to fish in Patagonia. With his fishing buddy Pierre Düby he found an idea Partner. A true expedition started. The two were fishing from November to mid-December. The trip started in San Carlos de Bariloche. They were fishing the Lago Nahuel Huapi and the Rio Corentosso. Then on the Rio Traful for the Landlocked-Salmon, later in Chimehuin, then the rivers around San Martin and Junin de los Andes, the Lago and the Rio Gutierrez, in these days untouched waters. A real fishing-paradise for a Flyfisher fort he large browntrout (Marrons) and rainbowtrout.
The trip was an Adventure not only what concerned the nature, but fortunately the two were supported by a Guide, who knew the owners of the Estanzias, what was a must because they had to allow you to cross their land. Just to drive with a rental car from Bariloche to Esquel does not make sense if you really want to catch fish! So today a good Patagonia fishing journey, flights to Buenos Aires and then down to Patagonien and back with a full-service Guiding cost 10'000.- Euro for about 15 – 20 days.
We are organising a trip to Pategonia for a small group of people in December 2010. This time we plan to fish further South and the starting point will be Esquel. Heidi and HRH have already been there a few times and know the fantastic water in Parque National los Alerces and the other top waters in the area such as the Rio Arrojo Pescado and the more distant Lagos Picos. This trip is only for fly fishers. Applicants should register their interest without any obligation. As soon as the program has been put together you will be duly informed.
